Neil Harris does not expect any further action after Boro red card

Neil Harris fully expects to be on the touchline for both of Millwall’s fixtures this week after his red card against Middlesborough at the weekend.

The Lions boss was sent from the dugout after an altercation with one of Middlesbrough’s coaching staff on Saturday. He watched the rest of the game from the stands as his side came from a goal down to earn their eighth point of the Championship season.

Speaking to the South London Press Harris said “No-one seems to know. It is a bit of a grey area. What I’ve been told is that there is no precedent. I’m hopeful that once the fourth official puts his report in then the outcome will be that I was trying to get the ball back. I shouldn’t have gone into their technical area.

“But that was the end of it. We had a beer afterwards and their didn’t seem to be too much of a problem I’m certainly expecting to be on the touchline on Tuesday and Saturday. I was trying to whack the ball out of his grasp and he has just turned himself around. There was no kerfuffle afterwards. It probably looked worse than what it was.”

It is Harris’ first divider red card as a manager, he is generally a well behaved manager in and around the touchline. He has only ever been sent to the stands once before, it was back in the 2015/16 season on the final day of the regular campaign. Harris was sent to the stands as Millwall won at Gillingham.
