Inter Milan weighing up swoop for former Swansea City striker

Inter Milan are considering a move for former Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony.

The Italian giants could hand the 30-year-old a lifeline, as per a report by Wales Online.

Bony, who is an Ivory Coast international with 56 caps under his belt, was released by Championship side Swansea at the end of last season following the expiry of his contract at the Liberty Stadium.

He has spent time this summer training with League Two side Newport County in order to retain his fitness as he searches for a new club.

Inter, who are managed by ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, could hand Bony a contract to add more depth and options to their attacking department.

The Serie A outfit finished 4th last season and are eager to compete for top spot this term. They are the home to some familiar faces such as Romelu Lukaku, who they have brought in from Manchester United this summer, ex-Hull City defender Andrea Ranocchia and former West Brom midfielder Borja Valero.

Bony could be on his way through the entrance door at the San Siro soon in a move which could raise some eyebrows.

He has had two spells at Swansea, the first of which was more successful. He joined them from Vitesse and scored 34 goals in 70 games which earned him a £25 million move to the Etihad Stadium.

He then moved back to Wales in August 2017 after they paid a fee of around £12 million to re-sign him from Manchester City having spent the campaign prior at Stoke City.
