Hull City snap up 19-year-old midfielder after trial period

Hull City have confirmed on their official club website that 19-year-old midfielder Elliot Bonds has joined the club on a one-year deal after impressing during a trial period with the Championship side.

Hull City have snapped up Guyanan international midfielder Elliot Bonds after bringing him in for an initial trial stint at the KCOM Stadium. Bonds makes the move to Hull City, where he has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the club, with the option for a further year included.

Bonds will link up with the Tigers’ Under-23s side, managed by Jon Beale. Speaking to the club website upon the confirmation of the deal, the midfielder has said he is looking forward to getting started at his new clubs as a new chapter in his career opens up.

“I’m very happy and proud to join Hull City. It’s a new chapter for my career and I just can’t wait to get going. I’m looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead this season. I want to progress in training, work hard and focus on developing all areas of my game as a Hull City player.”

Bonds, 19, came through the youth academy with non-league side Dagenham and Redbridge, making his way through their youth ranks before making his breakthrough into senior football. He spent a stint on loan with Farnborough before making his way into the first-team picture with the Daggers. He played a total of six games for the side before departing.

Bonds has also represented Guyana at senior level, playing six times for their national team after making his debut back in November 2018.
