Charlton Athletic yet to hear anything back on fate of Tomer Hemed transfer

Speaking to News Shopper, Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has said that the club are still yet to hear anything back regarding their proposed signing of Brighton and Hove Albion striker Tomer Hemed, which was completed last Thursday.

On transfer deadline day, Charlton Athletic agreed a deal with Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion to sign striker Tomer Hemed, with the personal terms of the deal being agreed as well. The paperwork is said to be have been handed in on time and Addicks boss Lee Bowyer had hoped to hear back from the football governing bodies quickly.

However, over a week after deadline day, Hemed’s move to Charlton is yet to be ratified. Despite his, Lee Bowyer has said that the club are remaining confident that a deal can be confirmed, despite hearing nothing back from the governing bodies yet.

“We’re still quietly confident that it’s going to happen. Nothing’s changed, we’re just waiting for a reply from them [the EFL and the FA] so, as soon as we do that, then hopefully he can come and start training with us because we’re losing out, the kid’s losing out, it’s just wrong.

“I’ll just say what I said last week. Hopefully, they come back with the right decision.”

Nothing,” Bowyer said when asked if the club have heard anything back from the governing bodies.

“There’s so much going on with Bury and Bolton at the moment they must be just purely concentrating on that because we’ve not heard a thing back.

“[Head of recruitment] Steve Gallen has sent emails, [club secretary] Chris Parkes has sent some, and we’ve not heard anything back.”
