Luton Town have confirmed on their official club website that Chelsea playmaker and former Leeds United and Huddersfield Town loanee Izzy Brown will spend the 2019/20 season on loan at Kenilworth Road.
In a busy transfer deadline day, Championship newcomers Luton Town have snapped up three new players, bringing a trio in on loan for the upcoming season. Chelsea man Izzy Brown will spend the season on loan with the Hatters, as will Aston Villa defender James Bree and Manchester City youngster Luke Bolton.
Stoke City were said to be keeping tabs on the Chelsea academy graduate earlier this week, but it is Luton Town who have pounced to bring him in. The attacker comes in to add further competition and depth to Graeme Jones’ attacking options, with Brown holding the ability to play out wide as well as in a number 10 role in behind the striker.
Brown came through the academy at Chelsea and has since spent his career on loan, mainly in the Championship. After one season on loan with Vitesse Arnhem (24 games, one goal and one assist), Brown has spent the last three campaigns in the Championship.
The 23-year-old has played for Rotherham United (20 appearances, three goals and five assists), Huddersfield Town (21 appearances, five goals and one assist) and Leeds United (two appearances). In his time at Elland Road last season, Brown went through rehabilitation for a serious knee injury before suffering from further injury problems, scuppering his chances of making an impact in Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Now, he will be hoping to impress in his time at Kenilworth Road to help Luton Town maintain their Championship status and make an impact upon their return to the second flight.
