Fulham join the race to sign Cardiff City forward

Fulham have joined the race to sign Cardiff City forward Bobby Reid according to Sky Sports sources.

He is valued at around £10million by the Bluebirds but Fulham face stiff competition from Bristol City for his signature.

The 26-year-old could be on the move to London with Fulham now appearing as favourites to sign him due to their greater finances and the appeal of a transfer to a club surely looking to win promotion.

The Robins have been in search of a forward for much of the summer and have recently been linked with Eddie Nketiah and Charlie Austin, but look set to miss out on both, as they appear to be heading for Leeds and West Brom respectively.

Reid is still believed to be a part of Neil Warnock’s plans especially considering he played in their first game against Wigan on Saturday.

It would surely take a huge fee to prise him away from the Welsh club but with Fulham looking to add further reinforcements before the close of the transfer window, a move could still materialise.

Reid hasn’t really hit the ground running or made the impact he would have liked since his move to Cardiff from Bristol City but a transfer to his former club could appeal with him being familiar with the squad and the coaching staff.

Cardiff’s style of play tends to limit the likes of Reid who is a direct and pacy player who would complement the styles of Fulham and Bristol City.

However with Cardiff certainly needing to replace Reid should he depart a deal being struck seems increasingly unlikely the closer the deadline becomes.
