West Brom in talks to sign Polish striker from Pogon Szczecin

West Bromwich Albion are in advanced talks with Pogon Szczecin over a move for Poland star Adam Buksa according to The Sun.

It is no secret that the Baggies have been desperate to add some firepower to their frontline before the close of the transfer window tomorrow and they are now focusing on Buksa following their failed attempt to sign Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle on loan.

Negotiations with Pogon Szczecin have been advancing over the last few days and the Polish side are holding out for a fee in the region of £3million for the striker.

Slaven Bilic is currently mulling over the finer details of the deal but should he be happy with the proposed move then it is expected to go ahead.

Buksa scored 11 goals in 22 league appearances for the Polish outlet last season but the Championship will of course be a huge step up for the youngster.

The striker has caught the eye of a number of clubs across Europe and has recently been linked with a move to Portuguese side Braga whilst a host of other Championship clubs have also been alerted to his availability.

West Brom’s front line has been severely hit by the departures of Jay Rodriguez, Dwight Gayle and Salomon Rondon albeit the latter having spent last season on loan at Newcastle United.

Buksa is a relative unknown in the English game but his goalscoring record in the Polish league is fairly impressive and with little over 24 hours of the transfer window left, West Brom will be eager to get as many signings over the line as they can.
