Blackburn Rovers, Brentford, Wigan Athletic and Portsmouth express interest in Everton youngster

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, writing for Football Insider, Premier League side Everton will allow youngster Antony Evans to leave the club this summer, with Championship trio Blackburn Rovers, Brentford and Wigan Athletic among the sides to express interest in the Toffees man.

Football League clubs have just a matter of days to tie up the final permanent deal before the window, with the transfer window closing next Thursday and not reopening until January. Now, it has been claimed that the availability of Everton youngster Antony Evans has put clubs from the Championship and League One on red alert.

Evans has been told he is free to make a move away from Goodison Park this summer and Championship sides Blackburn Rovers, Brentford and Wigan Athletic are all said to be keen. League One side Portsmouth have also been credited with interest, as have Italian sides Empoli Perugia and German second division outfit Dinamo Dresden.

The aforementioned clubs have all expressed interest in Evans so it awaits to be seen who makes the first offer to try and bring the attacker in before next Thursday’s deadline.

The 20-year-old has come through the youth academy at Everton, featuring heavily for the club’s Under-23s (55 games, 12 goals and four assists) after graduating from the Under-18s (six games, five goals and two assists). He has spent time out on loan with League One outfit Blackpool (12 games, one assist) and Morecambe (14 games, two goals and two assists).

Now, with a move away from Goodison Park on the cards, it awaits to be seen where Evans will be playing his football this season.
