Stoke City defender Bruno Martins Indi continues to be pursued by Besiktas according to Turkish Outlet Sabah.
It is believed that Besiktas are determined to land the defender as their sporting director Ali Naibi has travelled to England in order to negotiate the signing of the 27-year-old.
The Dutchman is keen on a move to the Turkish side as he looks to seek a new challenge away from the Bet 365 Stadium. There could be a concern for the Potters however, with fellow defender Ryan Shawcross recently having surgery on what appeared to be a serious looking injury he sustained on pre-season duty.
The report claims that Martins Indi has agreed personal terms with Besiktas and is set to earn around €1.5million a season from the deal, although a fee between the two clubs has yet to be agreed.
Stoke are looking to obtain around €6million however the Turkish club are only willing to pay €4million and wish to split this into three separate instalments.
Since joining Stoke – initially on loan – from Porto in the summer of 2016, Martins Indi has gone on to make almost 100 appearances in all competitions for the Potters, scoring twice.
He has been an important physical presence in their defence and would leave a big void that would require filling before the close of this summer’s transfer window.
Nathan Jones’ side are certainly in no hurry to lose Martins Indi with the centre back still having three years left on his current contract keeping him at the club until 2022 and will be determined to not allow him to leave for less than their valuation.
