According to a report from the Daily Mail, Championship side Derby County have entered talks with PSV Eindhoven over a move for midfielder Bart Ramselaar, as manager Philip Cocu looks to link up with one of his former players at Pride Park.
Philip Cocu is determined to further bolster his ranks ahead of the new season and has said that new players could make their way through the doors at Derby County before their season kicks off this Saturday against Championship new boys Huddersfield Town.
And, one of the players that could be making the switch to Pride Park soon in PSV Eindhoven man Bart Ramselaar. It was reported here on The72 earlier this summer that Cocu had identified Ramselaar as a potential transfer target. Now, it has emerged that the Rams are now in talks over a deal for the midfielder.
Ramselaar has fallen out of favour at PSV since the departure of Philip Cocu, playing just four times last season under Mark Van Bommel. And, the 23-year-old will be allowed to leave the club this summer with Derby County ready to swoop.
Ramselaar came through the youth academy with FC Utrecht, progressing through the Dutch side’s youth ranks before going on to play 49 times for the senior side, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists from midfield along the way. He made the move to PSV in 2015 and has played 76 times since, netting seven and assisting six.
With the start of the season this weekend and with the summer transfer window closing in under two weeks, it awaits to be seen how quickly talks over Ramselaar’s move to Derby County progresses.
