Burnley look to make bid of £2.6million for Leeds United goalkeeper

Burnley are looking to make a bid of around £2.6million for Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell according to The Sun.

Tom Heaton’s move to Aston Villa looks to be progressing rapidly after a fee was agreed between Burnley and the Premier League new boys. Heaton is now on the verge of a move to Villa Park for a deal worth around £8million.

This could pave the way for Burnley to swoop in for Peacock-Farrell who looks to be surplus to requirements at Elland Road as he hasn’t been assured of being their number one goalkeeper for next season.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is a big fan of the Northern Ireland international and wants him to compete for the number one slot.

Should Peacock-Farrell join the Lancashire side fellow goalkeeper at Turf Moor, Joe Hart may move on before the window shuts having seen his switch from Manchester City flop when he was dropped after a string of poor performances.

Nick Pope is also amongst the goalkeepers at Burnley but Dyche would be willing to allow Peacock-Farrell to fight for a first team place.

It is believed that 22-year-old Peacock-Farrell would jump at the chance to sign for a team in the Premier League after he lost his place to Kiko Casilla mid way through last season as Leeds went on to lose in the play-off semi finals to Derby County.

Being a keeper in his early 20’s Peacock-Farrell is a very talented stopper and has a lot of potential to improve as he matures but he will undoubtedly want regular football at this stage of his career.
