Nottingham Forest confirm capture of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker on loan deal

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Rafa Mir on a season-long loan deal as announced on their official website.

The Spaniard helped his country win the European Under-21 Championships this summer, having spent last term on loan at Spanish second division side Las Palmas where he scored seven goals.

Mir joined Wolves from Valencia in January 2018 but has featured just four times for the Premier League club under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Nottingham Forest kick off their Championship campaign at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and Rafa Mir will now be available for them as they aim to begin the season with a victory.

Mir has also got Champions League, Europa League and La Liga experience from his time at Valencia and this could be important for the Championship side as they look to add further quality additions to the squad.

The highly-rated Spanish forward will go straight into the squad for the West Brom game where he will be looking to make an instant impression for Sabri Lamouchi’s side.

Mir was yet to score for the Midlands club but gaining experience in the second tier of English football could be the ideal move as he looks to adapt to a different style of play and potentially force his way to into the Wolves side in the near future.

Forest have already added Sammy Ameobi, Albert Adomah and Tiago Silva in forward areas and with new signing Mir, they have significantly increased their options in the attacking department.
