Blackburn Rovers could sanction move away for Ipswich Town, Blackpool and Accrington Stanley target

The Lancashire Telegraph has reported that Blackburn Rovers “could sanction a move away” for striker Joe Nuttall, who is attracting interest from League One trio Ipswich Town, Blackpool and Accrington Stanley.

Having brought in striker Sam Gallagher from Premier League side Southampton earlier this summer, Blackburn Rovers can now afford to move on a striker. Danny Graham, Ben Brereton, Dominic Samuel and Gallagher are all strikers, while Adam Armstrong – who is more often used out wide – can also play upfront.

Now, it has been reported that Rovers striker Joe Nuttall – who was heavily linked with a move away from Blackburn Rovers in January – could now be sanctioned a move away with a number of clubs once again keeping a close eye on his situation.

League One trio Ipswich Town, Blackpool and Accrington Stanley have all been credited with interest in Nuttall this summer, as the three sides look to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window slams shut next week.

Nuttall, 22, spent time in the youth academy with Premier League side Manchester City before linking up with Scottish side Aberdeen in 2015. He played only twice for the Dons’ senior team, spending time out on loan with Dumbarton and Stranraer in his two years in Scotland.

The striker made the move to Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2017 and went on to play 13 League One games as they won promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking, scoring twice along the way. He also featured 15 times last season but has found most of his game time with Blackburn has come with the club’s Under-23s, where he has an impressive goalscoring record, netting 20 goals in 25 games.
