Hull City holding firm on £20 milion valuation of winger amid Newcastle United interest

Newcastle United are refusing to pay Hull City’s £20 million valuation of key winger Jarrod Bowen.

The Premier League side are keen on signing the highly-rated 22-year-old but the Tigers are holding firm of their asking price which the Toon believe is too steep, according to journalist Lee Ryder on Twitter.

The new Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is eager to bring in some players before the season starts and knows Bowen well from when he was manager at the KCOM Stadium.

Bowen, who joined the Yorkshire side as a youngster from Hereford United in 2014, has established himself as Hull’s star player over the past two years and has been an integral part of their side.

He made his first team debut in August 2016 in a League Cup tie against Exeter City and went onto make seven appearances for the Tigers in the Premier League that season as they were relegated.

Bowen then played 44 times in the Championship in the 2017/18 campaign and scored 15 goals from right wing before bagging 22 goals in the last campaign.

Hull’s valuation of £20 million could appear expensive, but for a winger who has scored a combined 37 goals in the previous two seasons, you can understand why they want so much for him.

Their fans will be praying they can fend off interest from the top flight and keep him for another year.
