Leeds name strong starting eleven in final pre-season fixture in Italy.

This pre-season has thrown much at Leeds and their supporters, but the games have gone fairly well in preparation for the new campaign… well, aside from “that” game vs Manchester United.

Leeds have dispatched of York City (0-5), Guisely (1-2), Tadcaster Albion (1-5) and Western Sydney (1-2) so far this summer, but failed to notch against old foes Manchester United in Perth.

However, the squad that travelled to Italy earlier this week have the clubs final friendly of pre-season, against Cagliari, half the squad travelled and here is your starting line up…

Many fans would’ve liked to see Mateusz Bogusz given an opportunity from the start, but that isn’t to be at this stage, although the Polish youth International is expected to have a big impact this season.

It really doesn’t matter how the game ends as there is no reward and no negative impact on the result, but Leeds United and all of their fans will want to sign off their pre-season campaign with a win, the more convincing, the better.

Leeds have also dispatched of Girona this afternoon in Manchester, beating the Spanish outfit, who their own play-maker, Samu Saiz, has just joined on a permanent basis from Leeds, 3-2, with goals coming from Clarke Oduor, Jack Harrison and a penalty from Gianni Alioski.

An avoidance of defeat or, more importantly, a convincing win would sign off on a pretty decent preparation period for the Whites, all they need to do now is seek strength in depth for a squad that is currently heavily reliant on youth.
