Swansea bring in Hornet to add sting to the squad.

Swansea City have been through the mill in recent times, with the loss of influential players and the rumours surrounding others leaving the Liberty Stadium. But they have started to bring in enforcement’s ahead of the new campaign.

With a somewhat disappointing season being closed, the loss of their manager, Graham Potter, to Brighton and Hove Albion, the loss of one of their most promising starlets in recent times in Daniel James to Manchester United and the transfer of Jordan Ayew to Crystal Palace being finalised today, Swans fans will be glad to see the back of 2018/19.

They are also warding off interest in leading striker Oliver McBurnie, so things could still take a twist in a downward direction in the near future.

However, The Swans have started to make steps to strengthen an ever weakening squad, having already brought in Jake Bidwell from QPR on a free transfer, they have now moved to further strengthen their defence.

Swansea have today announced the signing of promising young defender Ben Wilmot (19) on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Watford.

Wilmot spent last season on loan at Watford’s sister club Udinese in Italy, where he has had a good taste of senior level football in readiness for first team duties at Vicarage Road, but it appears that the club feel a season in the Championship will also benefit the youngster, so they will be hoping that the player gets plenty of game time next season.

More to come Swansea fans?
