Championship club look to tie down Chelsea man on a permanent deal.

Many Championship clubs are looking towards the higher echelons of the Premier League in a bid to acquire sufficient enough talent to sustain a challenge on Championship promotion this coming season, but most seek loan deals. This club wants a permanent deal for this Chelsea man.

Trevoh Chalobah enjoyed a fairly successful season, personally, with Ipswich Town last time out, owing to the fact that Ipswich ended up being relegated to League One has done nothing to quash interest in the 20-year-old.

Playing in a team that struggled immensely in the Championship last year, Chalobah still managed to turn heads with his performances, playing in forty three games and scoring two goals, but the player still has two years remaining on his Chelsea contract.

However, Championship new boys Huddersfield Town are looking to make a permanent move for the young midfielder, in a bid to replace the possible departure of midfield talisman Aaron Mooy, hoping that the offer of first team football in a team that will be pushing to return straight back to the Premier League with parachute payments helping with wages may sway a move in their favour.

There is no mention of a fee in the report that broke this story today on Goal.com, but it is believed that The Terriers are favourites to land Chalobah one way or another.

Chelsea rate the player highly though, so they may be swayed more towards another loan move for the youngster, however  they would probably seek to extend his contract before any such deal.

It remains to be seen where Chalobah will ply his trade next season, but Huddersfield’s hat is now firmly in the ring.
