QPR hoping for third time lucky in pursuit of League One winger

QPR remain interested in signing Ipswich Town winger Alan Judge despite seeing their first two bids rejected by the Tractor Boys.

The Hoops’ latest offer of around £450,000 was rebuffed but they are expected to go back in with another bid.

They could use money gained from selling Darnell Furlong to fellow Championship side West Brom to fund a third move for Judge, according to a report by The Standard.

QPR boss Mark Warburton knows him their time at Brentford together and wants to reunite with him at Loftus Road before the start of the season to add some more experience and quality into his newly inherited squad.

Judge, who is a Republic of Ireland international with six caps to his name, still has two years left on his deal at Portman Road having only joined Ipswich in the January transfer window from the Bees. He couldn’t prevent them from slipping into League One.

The 5ft 7inc midfielder started his career in Ireland before moving over to England to join Blackburn Rovers in 2008. He has had since had other spells at Plymouth Argyle and Notts County before joining Brentford in 2014.

Judge became a key player for the London side and played 140 games for them, scoring 26 goals. He played a massive role in their promotion to the Championship under Warburton and then helped them get to the Play-Offs in the second tier in 2015.

QPR will be eager to strike a deal for him over the next couple of weeks.
