Aston Villa make £15million bid for Brentford winger

Aston Villa have reportedly made a bid of around £15million for Brentford winger Said Benrahma and the player wants the move according to L’Equipe.

The Premier League newcomers have been interested in the winger for much of this transfer window and have now made an official bid for the Brentford man.

Villa boss Dean Smith bought Benrahma from Nice last year whilst he was in charge of the Bees and he is now keen to add him to their long list of signings this transfer window.

The Algerian had a hugely impressive campaign as he notched 10 goals and created 15 assists in the 2018/19 campaign and this attracted a whole host of potential suitors from the Championship and the top flight.

It is believed that he wants a quick resolution to the transfer and make the move to the Premier League.

Dean Smith has been taking a look at many of his previous Brentford players having already bought in defender Ezri Konsa and also registering significant interest in their forward Neal Maupay.

The Midlands side have been busy reshaping their squad ahead of the Premier League season and Benrahma could be the latest recruit making the move.

Brentford might be wise to accept such a significant offer whilst also giving themselves enough time to bring in an adequate replacement. It is apparent that the Algerian sees his future away from Griffin Park so it may be best to allow the player to move on.

It would be a great acquisition for Aston Villa to obtain a 23-year-old with a lot of potential who can operate on either flank highlighting his versatility within the team.
