Fulham eager to sign former Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday loanee

Fulham are interested in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah.

The Cottagers’ are set to sell left-back Ryan Sessegnon to Spurs and are keen on bringing Onomah to Craven Cottage with some of the money, according to a report by The Telegraph.

Onomah, who is 22 years-old, has been left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour to Asia and has been told to find a new club.

He was linked with a permanent switch to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday but that deal has stalled after Steve Bruce’s departure to Newcastle United. He could now move to the second tier with Fulham.

Onomah started his career at Spurs and rose up through the youth ranks there. He has represented England at all youth levels from U16 to U21.

Hemade his first-team debut in January 2015 in an FA Cup tie against Burnley at White Hart Lane. He has since made 31 more appearances for the last seasons’ Champions League finalists.

He spent the 2017/18 season on loan in the Championship with Aston Villa and played 37 games for them in all competitions, scoring four assists. He played the Midland side getting to the Play-Off final that year, only to lose to Fulham.

Onomah then spent the last campaign at Sheffield Wednesday and made 16 appearances for the Yorkshire side.

He could now be on his way back down to the Championship with Fulham this summer.
