Salford City enter race with Blackpool and Swindon Town for former Oldham Athletic loanee from Bradford City

Salford City have entered the race with Blackpool and Swindon Town to sign former Oldham Athletic loanee Eoin Doyle from Bradford City, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

League Two side Salford City have entered the race with Blackpool and Swindon Town to sign former Oldham Athletic loanee Eoin Doyle from Bradford City.

Alan Nixon tweeted: “SALFORD. Taking keen interest in Eoin Doyle at BRADFORD. SWINDON losing a bit of hope with that one. BLACKPOOL may be looking elsewhere.

Eoin Doyle is a proven goalscorer in League One, as he showed two seasons ago with Oldham Athletic where he scored 16 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions. To add to this, the Irishman scored 25 goals in 33 appearances for Chesterfield during the 2014/15 season.

About Eoin Doyle –

Doyle started his career in Ireland with spells at Shellbourne, Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers and in 2011 he made the move to Hibernian where he netted 11 goals in a two-year spell.

Chesterfield secured the signing of Doyle in 2013 and he helped them to the League Two title in his debut season and finished the club’s top goalscorer.

The following season, Doyle’s impressive start with Chesterfield, scoring 25 goals, earned him a move to Championship side Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee.

Following five goals in 16 games, Doyle joined Preston North End on loan before making his transfer permanent at the start of the 2016/17 season. Doyle has made 39 appearances for Preston North End but only scored 5 goals for The Lilywhites. He was loaned out to League Two side Portsmouth until the end of the season.
