Derby County make contact with Liverpool over potential return move for 2018/19 loan hero

The Derby Telegraph has reported that Derby County have contacted Premier League side Liverpool to ask about the possibility of bringing winger Harry Wilson back to Pride Park on loan once again.

Derby County brought Harry Wilson in on loan from Liverpool for the 2018/19 Championship season, and the Welsh starlet went on to enjoy a thoroughly successful season at Pride Park. Now, it has been revealed by the Derby Telegraph that the Rams have enquired about a second loan deal for the 22-year-old ahead of the new season.

After his strong season for Derby County, Wilson has not been short of potential suitors ahead of the new season. Leeds United were credited with interest in the winger, with Premier League clubs also reportedly taking a liking to Wilson. It has been said that Liverpool would prefer to send him out to a Premier League club having impressed with Derby and Hull City. A permanent move away from Anfield was also mentioned earlier this summer.

Wilson has come through the youth academy at Liverpool and having proved himself in the club’s Under-23s side by scoring 32 goals and providing 14 assists in 60 games, he headed out on loan to Hull City for the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.

Wilson scored seven goals and provided four assists in 14 games for Tigers and spent last season on loan with Derby after returning to his parent club. The finished as the Rams’ top scorer and played an important role in their campaign as they earned a spot in the play-off final. He scored 18 goals and laid on six assists in 49 games across all competitions.

Now, it will be interesting to see if the Rams are successful in bringing Wilson back to Pride Park as it awaits to be decided where he plays his football next season.
