Nottingham Forest tell former Peterborough United and Luton Town loanee to find a new club

Nottingham Forest have told out of favour striker Jason Cummings that he has to find a new club ahead of the new season, as new manager Sabri Lamouchi looks to reshape his squad ahead of Agust 3rd.

The Nottingham Post has reported that striker Jason Cummings is alongside a number of other fringe players at Nottingham Forest to be told that they have to find new clubs, with the new season and the end of the summer transfer window just a matter of weeks away.

The likes of Cummings, Luke Steele, Liam Bridcutt, Daryl Murphy, Gboly Ariyibi and Zach Clough all featured in a friendly for Forest’s Under-23s side having been told that they will be making moves away from the City Ground this summer.

Cummings has not played for Nottingham Forest in a competitive game since December 2017, so despite the arrival of a new manager, it doesn’t seem too surprising that he has been deemed surplus to requirements by Lamouchi.

He has spent the last season and a half away on loan. Cummings spent the second half of the 2017/18 season on loan in his home country of Scotland with Rangers, where he netted six goals in 18 games for the club.

Upon returning to the City Ground with Forest, the Scot was loaned out to Peterborough United, where he started in stunning form, netting six goals in his first five League One goals. However, his form dwindled and he finished on eight goals in 29 appearances. He remained in League One with Luton Town for the second half of the season, netting once in five appearances.

It will be interesting to see where Cummings will be playing his football next season, and if he leaves the club on loan or makes a move away on a permanent basis.
