Leeds United manager looking to swoop in for Liverpool starlet

Leeds United manager Marco Bielsa is hoping to beat Rangers to the signing of Ryan Kent from Liverpool according to TalkSport.

The Whites are on a pre-season tour of Australia for warm up games ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign however Bielsa delayed his arrival as he scouted Kent in Liverpool’s pre-season game against Bradford.

Kent was on loan at Rangers last season and performed well at Ibrox and their manager Steven Gerrard is keen on bringing the youngster back to the club for another spell.

The 22-year-old scored six times and created four goals in the Scottish Premiership last season however, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has not yet approved a loan for him.

It is thought that Bielsa was also watching Harry Wilson who has a successful loan spell with Derby County last season, in his scouting mission but it was Kent who really caught his attention and he could now progress in a move for him.

Kent was involved in all three goals in the Reds’ pre-season game and Klopp is determined to allow the youngster to have every opportunity to impress ahead of the new season as he bids to make his mark and push towards the Liverpool first team squad.

Klopp had his say on Kent as he expressed his desire to reward him with a chance to showcase his talents after an impressive loan spell in Scotland.

He said: “The door is always open, but the boys have to go through by themselves. It is always like this in each pre-season.”
