Nottingham Forest and Hull City linked with former PSG forward

A report from French news outlet Foot Mercato has claimed that Championship pair Nottingham Forest and Hull City are alongside a number of European sides in keeping a close eye on French attacker Hervin Ongenda, who currently plays in Romania for FC Botosani.

With his contract at Romanian top division side FC Botosani, former PSG forward Hervin Ongenda has reportedly been attracting the attention of a number of sides across the continent. Alongside Championship duo Nottingham Forest and Hull City are Italian pair Brescia and Chievo Verona, Belgian Jupiler Pro League club Gent and sides from Turkey.

The aforementioned clubs have all reportedly been keeping a close eye on Ongenda over the course of the past few weeks. And, given the fact that his contract with FC Botosani runs out next summer, Ongenda could be available on a reasonably priced deal.

Born in Paris, Ongenda started his career in the youth academy in the French capital with European giants Paris Saint-Germain. The former France youth international came through the youth ranks at PSG before going on to break into the club’s first-team. He played 16 times for the PSG senior side, scoring two goals and assisting three times before his departure in January 2017.

Since then, Ongenda, 24, has played for three different clubs in three different countries. He left PSG for Dutch side PEC Zwolle, where he played three times in six months before leaving the club. Ongenda then joined Spanish club Real Murcia on a free transfer in March 2018 and just months later in July 2018, he joined current club FC Botosani.

With Botosani, Ongenda has scored four goals and provided five assists in 38 games and opened the new Romanian season with a goal in a 2-2 draw. It awaits to be seen if the claimed interest will develop any further, or if he sees out his contract in Romania.
