Nottingham Forest complete signing of highly rated Portuguese midfielder

Nottingham Forest have today completed the signing of highly rated Portuguese midfielder Tiago Silva as confirmed on their official website.

Silva has joined Forest on a two-year-contract from Feirense and he is now the club’s second signing of the summer after also capturing the signature of Sammy Ameobi earlier this summer.

The Portuguese is a talented midfielder who will now join up with the squad on their pre-season training camp ahead of the upcoming 2019/20 campaign.

The 26-year-old is known as a technically-gifted midfielder and came through the youth ranks at the Benfica academy but made his professional debut for Portuguese side Belenenses in August 2013.

Silva then made the move to Feirense in 2018 and scored five goals and made nine assists last season as he enjoyed an impressive campaign.

New Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has made Silva his first signing after previous boss Martin O’Neill’s sacking last week.

The right footed midfielder was particularly influential with Belenenses as he helped them achieve promotion in his first season at the club.

He then made a loan switch to Feirense which he would then make permanent.

The 5 foot 9in midfielder likes to play deep from midfielder with his vast range of passing and although primarily right footed he is strong with both feet.

A move to the City Ground would be ideal for Forest with Joao Carvalho suffering with an injury to his ankle which as required seeing a specialist and Silva could help fill the void should the injury prove to be serious.
