Blackpool set to complete signing of former Crystal Palace, Brentford and Charlton Athletic winger

According to a report from the Blackpool Gazette, free agent winger Sullay Kaikai is set to complete a move to League One side Blackpool ahead of the 2019/20 season.

We reported here on The72 yesterday (Tuesday, 2nd July) that former Crystal Palace, Brentford and Charlton Athletic winger Sullay Kaikai was attracting the attention of League One side Blackpool upon his release from Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda.

Now, it has been claimed that Kaikai is on the brink of making a move back to England to link up with Blackpool. It is said that a deal was expected to be confirmed last night, but an announcement was not made the club awaiting paperwork from NAC Breda. However, this is not expected to hold up a deal in the long run, with Kaikai no longer contracted to a club.

Blackpool have been making impressive moves in the summer transfer window so far, bringing in the likes of Ryan Edwards, Jamie Devitt, Adi Yussuf and Ben Tollitt to bolster Terry McPhillips’ side ahead of the new season.

At the age of 23-year-old, Kaikai has already picked up plenty of Football League experience during loan spells away from Crystal Palace. The winger has played for Crawley Town, Cambridge Town, Shrewsbury Town (twice), Brentford and Charlton Athletic over the course of his short career.

After a short, unsuccessful stint in The Netherlands, Kaikai is expected to complete a return move to England with Blackpool. Fans will be hoping a deal can be completed quickly so the winger can be blooded into his new squad ahead of the 2019/20 season.
