Queens Park Rangers have announced the signing of Luke Amos from Tottenham Hotspur, for the duration of the 2019/20 season.

Amos joined Tottenham aged nine back in 2006 and featured on their summer tour of the United States last season, and made his league debut against Newcastle United on the opening day of the 2018/19 season.

The 22 year-old made his professional debut as a Southend United player back in 2017, as he featured three times for the League One side, before spending the second-half of the 2017/18 season at Stevenage, scoring two goals in 16 appearances.

His progress was cruelly and abruptly hampered last September, when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a Premier League 2 game against Blackburn Rovers.

Following his recovery, Amos is ready to knuckle down and go again in the upcoming season and will aim to get his career back on track.

Amos told the QPR website: “I haven’t wasted a day in that whole time. I feel physically fit and the next step for me is being back in games and that’s something I am looking forward to.

“I want to enjoy my football but that enjoyment comes from winning lots of games and playing lots of games, so that’s my target.”

Rangers manager, Mark Warburton was equally pleased to get the deal over the line, saying: “I know the quality that Luke has and how he can impact matches.

“He is clever on the ball, has technical ability and a passion for the game. I have admired him from afar and with Tottenham being my local team, I have seen him many times and watched him work”.

Amos joins Yoann Barbet, Liam Kelly and Lee Wallace as new signings at the club. QPR kick-off their campaign away to Stoke City.
