Derby County have given manager, Frank Lampard, permission to talk to Chelsea about the manager role.
Chelsea have been allowed to talk with Frank Lampard about possibly filling the empty manager slot at Chelsea.
The ex Chelsea player managed to guide his Derby County side to the Play-Offs last season and has had a great first season as a manager. After Maurizio Sarri left the blues to join Juventus in Italy, people have been speculating, wondering if it was time for Lampard to join his old club as the manager.
Some believe that it is too early for a club legend to go back and manage them, as they will say, look what happened with Shearer at Newcastle. However, others will say that it could be an exciting prospect to have a younger manager who is a legend of the club to manage them.
Lampard spent 13 years as a Chelsea player, and would replace Maurizio Sarri after he spent one season with Chelsea.
Chelsea came 3rd in the Premier League last season and Derby came 6th in the Championship. If Lampard was to join Chelsea, the fans would be hoping for a return back to the top and maybe even of winning the League if Lampard was to make the correct signings.
Overall, in my opinion I think that if Lampard joins Chelsea, it may not be the fairytale ending that all the fans would be hoping for. I think that it may end in tears if Chelsea don’t end up winning trophies.
