West Bromwich Albion complete first signing of the summer

West Bromwich Albion have made their first signing of the summer in the shape of Owen Windsor as reported by Gloucestershire Live.

The 17-year-old has signed a three year deal with the Baggies following his impressive performances for Cirencester Town in Southern League Division One South last season.

The youngster announced the news on his official Twitter page which was greeted with delight and congratulations from a number of Albion supporters.

Windsor turns 18 in September and scored six goals in seven league starts for the Centurions. Cirencester Town reached the Play Off Semi Finals where they were defeated by Cinderford Town.

The teenager isn’t unknown to the higher tiers of English football which him previously having also been on the books at Swindon Town and Southampton.

He has also been a scholar at Hartpury in 2018/19 where he helped them in the under 18’s national championship. Such as his fledgling reputation despite his tender years, he has also attracted interest from Chelsea but West Brom have now won the race for his signature.

Bristol City and Forest Green Rovers were also thought to be interested but he has made the move to the Hawthorns to continue with progressing his development. He will be stepping up a huge six levels to join the Baggies.

It is not yet known where Bilic sees the youngster making an impact although it would be incredible to believe he will be in and around the first team just yet with the Croatian wanting to ease the pressure on Windsor and bed him in slowly to life at the Hawthorns.
