Leeds United want West Ham United midfielder back at Elland Road

Leeds United are looking to bring back former midfielder Robert Snodgrass according to an insider for Hammers News.

Snodgrass played at Elland Road between 2008 and 2012 and scored 35 goals in 168 appearances for them before joining Norwich City.

It is now believed that Leeds would be looking to bring their former star back however due to his age it may not be possible for the deal to happen.

The 31-year-old is not of the youth that the Championship can sometimes need and a loan deal may not benefit him or Leeds whereby they could be looking at some younger alternatives this transfer window.

West Ham United are also rather reluctant to allow Snodgrass to go out on loan as they would prefer to either keep him or sell him.

The winger joined West Ham in 2017 but has failed to really make any sort of impact at the London stadium and also spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Aston Villa.

However upon returning he was given the chance to impress by boss Manuel Pellegrini and he began to become a regular for the Hammers.

He has been a popular figure at the clubs he has plied his trade and possesses a fantastic work rate as well as a quality ball from set pieces. He is certainly at the twilight of his career and it would make sense for West Ham to either retain him as an integral squad player or allow him to leave on a permanent basis.

Leeds could certainly do much worse than making a bid for Snodgrass who has all the experience they might need to finally get out of the Championship for which they have  failed to do so in recent seasons.
