Defender linked with Leeds United reported to be subject of £2.2million bid

The Swiss defender Silvan Hefti who has been linked with Leeds United has reportedly been the subject of a £2.2million bid according to Tutto Bologna Web.

The St Gallen captain has raised the interest of Leeds and the talented young defender has been earmarked as a potential transfer for the Yorkshire club.

Leeds have also been monitoring Ben White of Brighton decreasing the interest in Hefti but the Swiss has many admirers and it appears Italian side Bologna are ready to make a move for him.

The 21-year-old is subject to a bid of £2.2million being prepared by Bologna with Werder Bremen also interested in acquiring the services of the defender.

Hefti is a top talent and has all the quality to become a quality Championship defender and for this transfer fee Leeds should definitely progress with their interest in him.

Hefti was a regular for St Gallen last season as they finished fifth in the Swiss Super League and he’s a versatile option to have as he can play in the centre of defence or at right-back.

With Leeds’ season ending in a Play Off Semi Final defeat to Derby County, manager Marco Bielsa is looking to add quality and depth to his squad in preparation for another tough season in the Championship.

Pontus Jansson has been subject of much speculation regarding his future so the Swiss would certainly provide cover or as a replacement should Jansson leave the club.

Hefti looks to be a solid defender with a high degree of versatility and it is an area that Leeds definitely need to strengthen in after their problems in defence last season.
