Jay Rodriguez is subject to a flurry of Premier League transfer interest as Norwich City enter the race for the front man.
Rodriguez enjoyed a fruitful campaign last time out with The Baggies playing 47 times and scoring 22 goals, playing predominantly as one of a front three. Superb numbers in a season where West Brom just fell short of promotion falling to Aston Villa in the Play Off Semi Finals.
Norwich are among six clubs who have reportedly shown real interest in the Burnley born 29-year-old striker, along with Bournmouth, Leicester City, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and hometown club Burnley
News of a release clause has alerted the above clubs with a figure of £10m being stated in media outlets such as READ NORWICH. This fee comprises of an initial fee of £5m with a further £5m to be paid in add-ons. For someone of Rodriguez’s quality, and considering his goal-scoring output, £10m outlay is not that excessive.
Rodriguez, currently away on a pre-season break, is reported to be keen on resolving his future as a matter of priority, perhaps The Premier League will be his next destination?
Would the Baggies fans be sad to see him go or is a departure expected? It’s difficult to say which way that they’d lean. However, with losing Rodriguez and, likely, Dwight Gayle not returning then you’d expect any reaction to be quite vociferous – especially if no quality replacement is at hand.
