Leeds United – what can PSG youth players offer

With investment talk from PSG owners QSI heating up, there has been a vast amount  of speculation that promising players could make the jump from Paris to Leeds as a part of the strategy, we take a look at some of the development players PSG have within their arsenal.

Loic Mbe Soh

Loic at just 17 years old has certainly been a revelation for PSG. The French U18 International has played at international level since the U16 development players grouping. Born in Cameroon, he is both comfortable with the ball at his feet, but also not afraid to go into a tackle, a quality beloved by Leeds fans. There is also a flamboyance to his style of play, not afraid to utilise trickery when playing out from the back, a composed player that would most definitely suit Bielsa.

Loic went on to make two senior PSG appearances including in Ligue 1 last season and it would certainly seem that the sky is the limit for him in years to come.

Christopher Nkunku

Christopher, already proving his level for PSG in Ligue 1, could look to Elland Road with the assurance of a place in the starting 11. A French U21 international, the 21 year old made 20 appearances last season, scoring 3 goals.

A midfielder, linked with Arsenal as recently as January, could prove a difficult target for Leeds, however with the potential links between the two clubs this makes the possibility real.

Nkunku not only possesses composure on the ball but also has something that could suit him perfectly to the Championship, strength.

The stumbling block may be that only a year remains on his contract, but a loan signing with a view to a deal come next season could be possible, if QSI are willing for Leeds instead, to reap the rewards.

Nianzou Kouassi

At just 16 years of age, Kouassi is already a French youth international, he has played against the likes of Liverpool at youth level and possesses both pace and the vision for a pass.

As a centre back, the ability to both pass the ball with confidence and not be afraid to get forward is perfectly suited to the Bielsa Ball style of play currently employed at Elland Road.

Opinion

The counter argument to these players would be that Leeds United already possess fantastic youth players such as the likes of Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton, however if these players could prove to add quality to a promotion chasing Leeds side, Leeds fans would certainly welcome them.
