The 23-year-old joined Villa on loan in the January transfer window to provide Dean Smith with some much needed defensive cover. And that is the role Hause has played more often than not. He has played 12 games in all competitions for the club, performing strongly at both centre-back and left-back when needed.

The option is in place to tie down the defender to a permanent contract at Villa Park, leaving Wolves after five years on the books at Molineux.

The former England youth international made his break into senior football with Wycombe Wanderers before making a move to Wolves in 2014. After a short loan spell with Gillingham, Hause has gone on to play 80 games for Wolves across all competitions.

Hause had hardly featured for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side since their promotion. He had played two EFL Cup games all season prior to moving to Villa Park, making no appearances in the Premier League.
