“Never say never” – Tammy Abraham answers questions regarding potential Aston Villa return

Speaking after Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Derby County in the Championship Play-Off final, striker Tammy Abraham has said “never say never” about a possible return to Villa Park next season quotes via football.london).

Aston Villa’s loan striker Tammy Abraham has been a star performer for the club since joining the club on loan in the summer transfer window prior to the start of the season.

Abraham’s 26 goals have helped fire Aston Villa back to the Premier League, defeating Derby in the play-off final on Monday afternoon. A number of top-flight clubs from both England and Germany have been credited with interest in the striker.

After the game, Abraham was asked if he would be returning to Aston Villa this summer, to which he replied:

“You can never say never, never say never, first of all I’ve got to enjoy it with the boys tonight, but you can never say never, we’ll see what God has in plan for me,” Abraham said to Sky Sports.

Abraham was then asked about his future by TalkSport, stating that he hasn’t thought about it yet, but reiterated that he is only focused on celebrating Monday’s win.

“I haven’t thought about it. I had my mind focused on this game, and I just want to enjoy it with the boys now. We have had a great blast. You never know what God has planned for me.

“I am ready for it. I have had a fantastic season, and  I am ready for wherever I go. I am ready for a challenge. Coming here was a challenge, even though some people said it was not really a challenge.

“But I have come to a great club and this is a fantastic league. You have teams like Leeds and Derby who haven’t gone up, and I have had to prove myself. And I have done it, I have scored goals and we have got promoted.”

Premier League side Wolves were interested in the January transfer window and Newcastle United have been credited with interest in the run-up to the summer window. German side RB Leipzig have also been linked with a move for the striker. He could also remain with Chelsea, with a two-year transfer ban looming over the club.
