Portsmouth not interested in Bristol City striker

Portsmouth have ruled out a move for Bristol City striker Mo Eisa.

Bristol City have received bids for the out-of-favour forward but not one from Pompey.

Kenny Jackett has said, as per a report by Bristol Live: “We haven’t enquired about Mo Eisa. We definitely did last year when he was coming out of League Two, but it quickly went away. We were definitely interested but it quickly went out of our remit.

“We haven’t revisited it this summer and nor will we be. It won’t be one we’ll be coming into now, even wage wise it wouldn’t be possible.”

Eisa played just six times for Bristol City this past season after an injury-struck first campaign in the Championship.

The Sudanese forward signed for the Robins from League Two side Cheltenham Town in July last year for a fee in the region of £800,000 but the move hasn’t worked out.

He had spells in non-league with the likes of Dartford, Corinthian and Greenwich Borough before Cheltenham took a chance on him in 2017. Eisa impressed in his first season in the Football League and scored 25 goals in all competitions for the Whaddon Road club.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer. He hasn’t really been given a chance by Bristol City so it will be somewhat of a surprise to see him leave Ashton Gate already.
