Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford interested in Kosovo international

Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford are interested in signing FZ Zurich’s Benjamin Kololli according to a report from the Football Insider.

The 26-year-old winger was born and raised in Switzerland but because he has Kosovan parents, he has been able to pick up nine caps for the Kosovo national side. He has also scored three goals at the international level. But because he is a Swiss native, he has played in that country up to now having been contracted to the likes of Sion, Biel-Bienne and Laussane-Sport. He is currently playing for FC Zurich and is coming off an impressive season for them with some notable performances in the Europa League this season.

But he could soon be moving to England as three Sky Bet Championship teams are interested in signing him. Leeds need a new winger with Jack Harrison unlikely to return to Elland Road having had a £20m valuation and believe this could be the ideal guy for them. Wednesday already have one Kosovan international with Atdhe Nuhiu and would be delighted to add another if Kololli could repeat his form with them. Brentford have had success signing relative unknowns before and this could end up being another highlight for their scouting team.

For Kololli, this would be a risky move. He is currently playing for one of Switzerland’s top teams and many players have flopped heading to the Championship. But if he does end up being a success, this could be a move that eventually gets him into the Premier League.
