Norwich City release four players including Matt Jarvis and Yanic Wildschut

Norwich City have released four players at the end of their contracts including Matt Jarvis and Yanic Wildschut as confirmed by the club website.

The Canaries are coming off a fantastic season. After a mediocre start, they soon got going and had the best form in the league, rising to the top of the Sky Bet Championship table. They never budged from that position and they were able to get promoted to the Premier League as champions. While everyone did their bit to get promoted, it has now been confirmed that some players will not be coming with them to the top tier.

One of the biggest names to be leaving Norwich this summer is Jarvis. The 32-year-old winger, who had once been capped by England, has been a flop signing at Norwich since arriving at 2016 and has only made 14 appearances for them in three-years. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Walsall and was unable to stop them from being relegated from Sky Bet League One. Another big name leaving is Wildschut. The 27-year-old winger signed for £7m back in January 2017 but struggled for first team football and was loaned out to Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers during this spell.

The other two players to depart Norwich this season are Ivo Pinto and Steven Naismith. Pinto had already confirmed that he was leaving the club earlier in the month while Naismith hasn’t played for the Canaries since 2017 and instead has been on loan at Scottish side Hearts.
