Ipswich Town have announced their retained list on their official club website.
The Tractor Boys are preparing for life in League One next season following their relegation from the Championship.
Their manager, Paul Lambert, is under no illusion how difficult life could be in the third tier and has released ten players.
Dean Gerken, Grant Ward, Tom Adeyemi, Simon Dawkins, Jonas Knudsen, Jordan Spence and James Collins will all leave the club on the expiry of their respective contracts next month.
Youngsters Conor McKendry, Chris Smith and Ryley Scott will all also depart the club.
It is a new era for Ipswich and their wage bill will be reduced following the release of these players, allowing for Lambert to have the capacity to bring in some of his own players.
Promotion has to be the aim and the Tractor Boys will still have some talented players in their ranks which will help them do so.
Here is how their fans have reacted on Twitter to their retained list-
All the correct decisions. Way too much dead money and contracts in this squad, good job

@jordanjspence @jonasknudsen92 @GrantWard_ Thanks for everything you’ve given the Club #DownunderBlue #Itfc Jonas I’ll still wear your shirt with pride as long as you don’t go up to that club up north

All the best to @jonasknudsen92 – couldn’t fault your passion for #ITFC. A good servant for a number of years.

Don’t understand why people are gutted about Ward being released, never fulfilled his potential here and way too inconsistent imo #itfc
