Hull City owner Assem Allam slams the Tigers’ fans in recent interview

Hull City owner Assem Allam has said there will be no more investment into the club.

The Egyptian businessman has revealed in a recent interview shown on Twitter that no more money will be put into the club.

When asked about whether there will be any investment in the club anymore, Assem said: “No. Allam Out. When’s Allam’s Out, you don’t leave the cheque book in do you? The people who are saying Allam Out should come up with the money”

“The club has been up for sale for four years. Being a local man I want to make sure it finds a good home”

The Hull owners also gave an update on the situation of manager Nigel Adkins, who is out of contract next month: “The offer is there. We want Nigel to stay”.

The Allams took charge of the Tigers in 2010 but their ownership has been scarred by poor relationships with fans. Their name change proposal to “Hull Tigers” was met by angry opposition and was rejected by the FA.

They have also driven away many fans by their membership scheme that has removed concessions and priced out the younger generation of supporters. Attendances at the KCOM Stadium have plummeted over recent seasons.

Now the club’s Premier League parachute payments have ran out, there is little money to be made meaning the Allams won’t invest any more. For Hull fans, the long wait for new owners continues with more uncertainty looming over the club .
