Rangers are weighing up a move for Derby County left-back Max Lowe.
Steven Gerrard’s side are already planning for next season and could move for the 22-year-old, according to the Daily Record.
Lowe, who is a former England Under-20 international, has impressed on loan in the Scottish Premiership this season for Aberdeen. He has played 28 times for the Dons in the league, chipping in with two goals and two assists from defence.
Derek McInnes’ side are keen on bringing him to Pittodrie on loan again next season but will face strong competition from Rangers.
Lowe rose up through the Derby academy and made his first-team debut in August 2016 in a league cup tie against Carlisle United at Pride Park. He has since made 15 more appearances for the Rams’ senior side.
He has gained his first taste of regular first-team football on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town during the 2017/18 campaign. He played a key part in the Shrews side who got to both the Checkatrade Trophy final and Play-Off final under Paul Hurst.
Derby have booked their place at Wembley for the Championship Play-Off final and will lock horns with Aston Villa for a place in the Premier League. Their destination for next season will play a part in where Lowe is.
If the Rams do go up, then Lowe’s chances of regular football are limited so a loan move to either Aberdeen or Rangers for the next campaign is likely, and vice versa.
