Leeds United have missed out on a Play-Off final place at Wembley after losing to Derby County last night.
The Whites went into the game against the Rams at Elland Road 1-0 up after winning the first-leg at Pride Park.
However, a 4-2 loss on the night yesterday after goals from Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and two from Jack Marriott sent Derby fans into bedlam. A brace from the impressive Stuart Dallas gave Marcelo Bielsa’s side real hope that it was their night.
It has been a rollercoaster of a season for Leeds and one that looked like the one where they would finally return to the top flight. However, the wait now goes on and they will have to prepare for yet another campaign in the Championship.
Bielsa has done an impressive job with the Yorkshire side and they need to make sure he stays for next season. Despite ultimately failing to gain promotion to the Premier League, the work he has done with the younger players at the club is a credit to him.
Here is how the Leeds United fans reacted on Twitter to their defeat to Derby County in the Play-Offs last night-
Feel so much worse this morning, absolutely devastated.
Just hope Bielsa stays and we build on what has been a remarkable season #lufc— Walka (@SoundofWalka) May 16, 2019
Gutted but not surprised. Same old Leeds an embarrassment season after season giving us fans nothing back as per usual. Big summer rebuild is needed so many players that aren’t good enough. #lufc

I genuinely think, If it wasn't for the goal before the half-time whistle (no matter whose error was it) we would win this game.#LUFC

I think in summary, this #lufc team could beat anyone on the day. The problem we had is we could also lose to anyone on the day, think QPR, Wigan , Ipswich and Derby last night. You can’t have the peaks and troughs so pronounced.
