Norwich City considering move for out of favour England international

Championship title winners Norwich City are the latest side to have been linked with a summer move for Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart, who has fallen out of favour at Turf Moor.

Joe Hart’s future at Premier League side Burnley is surrounded by question marks in the run-up to the summer transfer window. After starting the first 19 games of the season at Turf Moor, Tom Heaton has become the first-choice, leaving Hart on the bench.

Blackburn Rovers have also been linked with a move for the Premier League winning shot stopper, but Rovers boss Tony Mowbray moved quickly to state that he was not sure where the links with a summer move emerged from.

Now, it has been reported by The Sun (9th May, Page 53) that Norwich City are considering a summer move for Hart, with manager Daniel Farke apparently keen to bring in a new goalkeeper.

A move for a new goalkeeper seems harsh on current Canaries number one Tim Krul, who played in all of Norwich’s Championship games, putting in some strong performances to help them to top spot.

But, a move for Hart would see Norwich add a player of international pedigree to their ranks, who has played at the very top. Hart played 348 games for Manchester City, with 62 of those coming in the Champions League and Europa League. He has also played for England on 75 occasions since making his debut in 2008.

Hart would come with a large wage packet, which could put Norwich off making a move for the 32-year-old. But, with Premier League finances now on their side, they could make a summer move for the ‘keeper.
