Top 20 Managers of the EFL – 6th: Lee Johnson (Bristol City)

Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson has been voted by you as the 6th best manager in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have found that you think Johnson is the 6th best manager in the Football League. He has moved up nine places from his 15th place on this list last year.
Johnson had already gained a lot of fans from both his time with Oldham Athletic, Barnsley and now Bristol City. While many believed that the Robins would do good things this year because Johnson’s sides always do well, not many expected them to challenge at the top of the table. That’s because the Championship is full of money and Bristol City were not splashing out in order to compete with them. But even with all the money in the world against them, they did compete at the top of the table.
For most of the season, Bristol City were in the top eight at the very least and for a long time looked like a comfortable bet for the Sky Bet Championship play-offs. Of course, they ended up missing out on a place in the end of season lottery due to a dip in the form at the very end of season but that should not distract from all the good they did during the season. But next season, Johnson will be hoping to get them into the play-offs.
