Motherwell manager keen on summer deal for Nottingham Forest winger

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson has said that he hopes that he can sign Nottingham Forest winger Gboly Ariyibi in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Winger Gboly Ariyibi is currently on loan with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell from Nottingham Forest, and Well boss Stephen Robinson has said that he is hopeful of bringing the American back to the club once his loan spell expires at the end of the season.

Ariyibi joined Motherwell on loan for the remainder of the 2018/19 season in the January transfer window and has made a good impression on Motherwell boss Robinson in his short spell at Fir Park. He has scored two goals and provided three in 15 games, earning plaudits from Robinson for his performance in a 4-3 win over Dundee, despite conceding a penalty.

After the victory over Dundee, Robinson said to the Motherwell Times that he is hopeful of bringing Ariyibi back to the club once his loan deal comes to an end.

“Gboly said he was fouled, he landed on the ball. So whether it was the right decision or not I can’t really comment.

“But I thought Gboly was excellent, especially when we went down to 10 men. It’s the first headers I’ve ever seen him win.

“He’s a talented boy. We’re hopeful to get him back again next year and progressing his career.”

Ariyibi joined Nottingham Forest from Chesterfield in 2017 but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Championship side. Since joining, he has spent loan spells with Milton Keynes Dons and Northampton Town.
