Middlesbrough interested in former-Manchester City and Swansea winger

According to The Sun, Middlesbrough are interested in bringing Celtic winger Scott Sinclair to Teesside in a deal worth £2 million.

Middlesbrough are looking to bolster their options out wide, with only Stewart Downing and Marcus Tavernier the only recognised wingers in the first team squad. With Downing expected to move on this summer given his contract is up, Boro are wanting to recruit new blood for next season.

One player on their radar is Celtic winger Scott Sinclair, who could be available in a cut price deal. The former-Manchester City and Swansea man is valued at £2 million, and Boro would be interested in bringing the 30-year old to Teesside.

Sinclair is wanted by Tony Pulis’ side regardless of which league they are playing their football come the end of the season. With the Play Offs still in sight, there is a slim chance they could start the next campaign in the Premier League, although it is now no longer in their hands.

He currently has one full year remaining on his contract, and this could be the reason as to why the asking price is surprisingly low for a player as experienced as Sinclair.

Since arriving at Celtic from Aston Villa in 2016, he has gone on to make nearly 100 league appearances, scoring 40 goals in the process. He has helped them win the Scottish Premier League trophy in two of the three seasons he has spent in Glasgow, and could make it three out of three if they go on to win the league again this month.
