Luton Town have been promoted to the Championship.
Peterborough United’s 3-2 win away at third place Portsmouth has meant both the Hatters and Barnsley will be playing in the second tier next season.
Luton have achieved back-to-back promotions over the past couple of campaigns.
They have taken League One by storm and despite their manager Nathan Jones leaving for Stoke City in January, Mick Harford has managed to get them over the line.
Luton will celebrate their impressive promotion, which nobody expected last summer. However, their sights will be firmly set on the title now. They are level on points (91) with Barnsley at the top but have a superior goal difference by four goals so it will be an exciting final day in the third tier.
Harford told the Hatters’ official club website last night: “What a year it’s been! It’s a been an unbelievable season with the turmoil and unrest in the middle of it, but it shows what a strong club we are coming out of it, and what a strong bond there is in the group of players, to come out of it and gain promotion.”
Here is how the Luton fans have reacted to their promotion on Twitter-
Absolutely unreal! We have returned! 😁😍🧡
All the way… all the way… to the Championship… all the way…
COME ON YOU HATTERS! 👏
Saturday is going to be incredible.

When you sit back and think about it, it’s very emotional.
From the likes of Alfreton, Braintree, Dartford and Grays, to where we are now.
