Norwich City and Sheffield United interested in Chelsea midfielder

Norwich City and Sheffield United have both been credited with an interest in Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer.

Both the Canaries and the Blades will be playing their football in the Premier League next season and could move for the 22-year-old, according to The Sun (30 April, page 50).

Palmer, who is an England Under-21 international, has impressed on loan at Championship side Bristol City since January. He could become available for £4 million this summer.

He started his career at Charlton Athletic and made the switch to Chelsea in 2013. The Lewisham-born midfielder has never made a senior appearance for the Stamford Bridge club.

Palmer has gained plenty of first-team experience out on loan though. He was part of the Huddersfield Town side who were promotion to the Premier League in 2017 and has also had spells at Blackburn Rovers and Derby County.

Norwich City are planning for life in the Premier League already and Palmer would offer them another option in midfield. Daniel Farke’s side have also been linked with a move for Rennes right-back Mehdi Zeffane as well, as reported by The72 earlier today.

Sheffield United will also be on the lookout for signings once they have finished their celebrations from the weekend. Palmer would suit the Blades as he is young and would add more depth to Chris Wilder’s side. The Yorkshire side are also looking to snap up Gary Madine from Cardiff on a permanent deal.
