Leeds United alongside top flight opposition in pursuit of prolific Austrian striker

The Daily Mail has claimed that Admira Wacker striker Sasa Kalajdzic is attracting interest from a number of clubs – one of which is Leeds United.

Leeds United are monitoring Admira Wacker striker Sasa Kalajdzic, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Kalajdzic has been in strong form in the Austrian Bundesliga, and his goals have attracted interest from a number of sides across Europe. He has scored six goals in nine league games, picking up three assists along the way. The 21-year-old has missed two chunks of the season through injury, but scouts have seen enough to impress be impressed by.

Premier League pair Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion are keeping an eye on Kalajdzic, as are European sides Red Bull Salzburg, Genk, Nice and Espanyol, who play in Austria, Belgium, France and Spain respectively.

Admira Wacker have already received plenty of interest in the striker, with a move to fellow Austrian Bundesliga side Rapid Vienna reportedly breaking down during the January transfer window. The club have also rejected offers for Kalajdzic, receiving enquiries from clubs across Europe.

The young striker – standing at 6ft 5in tall – broke into the Austrian side’s first-team in the 2017/18 season after a strong campaign with the club’s second team. He started out playing as an attacking midfielder for the club but was moved up front upon his return to the team after an extended injury absence.

If he keeps up his strong form, interest will surely continue to rise, as will his price tag.
